ANTECEDENTS

Young People is a program that was born in the year 2003, then that CRS ( Catholic Relif Service) and AGAPE sign an agreement; during that time CRS executed the Program "Planning your future" and AGAPE executed the Program of "Eradication of the Infantile Work" in the area of Ataco, Ahuachapán. CRS knowing the excellent trajectory of AGAPE in this type of social programs and their support and institutional transparency decides to associate with AGAPE and to give birth to the Program "Young People" where they are recaptured the youths firstly with those that had worked in the previous programs as well as to other youths of the neediest communities of Ataco, Ahuachapán.

OBJECTIVE

To develop processes that empower to young and adolescents through the development of their capacities, in such a way that allows them to become responsible, healthy, productive citizens, and to participate in the development of their community and in the solution of their basic necessities.


POPULATION GOAL

35 young leaders and 300 beneficiaries of the communities of CONCEPCION DE ATACO, AHUACHAPÁN

EXPECTED FINAL RESULTS

• The youths should be organized and work to solve their necessities and problems and then those of their community.
• The youths and adolescents will possess and they will practice good physical and mental health.
• The youths and adolescents will be enabled technical and socially to be leaders of their communities.
• Interinstitutional Spaces will be generated and in the public politics that allow the development of the adolescent and young children.
• All the information will be systematized that allows the achievement of lessons learned for next initiatives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

One works in 10 communities of Ataco, especially those more affected by the crisis of the coffee and work is also coordinated with the Health Unit, the Ministry of Education and Church.
