In the environment field, AGAPE OF El SALVADOR has developed a series of initiatives aiming at the generalized environmental situation of the country, through the implementation of programmes furthering the protection and conservation of natural resources.

These activities started in 1997, with the project for the conservation of the water reserves of the natural park belonging to ASOCIACION AGAPE DE EL SALVADOR, in the farm "La Plegada", which stem from the Quequesquillo river, a mainstream very important for the domestic uses of its waters, as well as for agriculture, the economic basic activity of these communities.

AGAPE OF EL SALVADOR has worked in this area for three consecutive years, achieving positive impact with the reforestation works carried out, using native species, as well as with the implementation of organic agriculture projects, getting small farmers involved in order to reduce the levels of pollution in the water reserves. Even more important was the implementation of projects of soil and water conservation resulting in growing clean water reserves.
