Here in Agape we have singular
areas in education, formal to informal. And we always are looking
for the best for all our students and beneficiaries because
they trust in us.
Therefore here we present
the different Institution that we have:
ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL
It
is a modern educational complex that offers integral pre-kindergarten
through high school education. It has capacity for more than 1,000
students.
The
school has a fully equipped state-of-the-art computer lab, spacious
grounds and buildings, a gymnasium and green areas.
St.
Francis School is well known in Sonsonate as a leader in education
and as an institution that obtains national awards. It is the only
school in Sonsonate with the modern FUTUREKID program.
In
the year 2003, the school classified for the third time as a National
Champion in the Central American and Caribbean student games (CODICADER).
The
second grade won the seventh national spelling, language and literature
contest. This contest took place in November, 2003 and it was promoted
by the Ministry of Education and the POMA Foundation.
Adult education plays an important role in the Agape Association
of El Salvador. Each year through PAEBA, we teach more than 15,000
adults to read and write in El Salvador. In the year 2003, there
were more than 620 alphabetizers in charge of going to communities
to teach reading and writing. 8,655 adults participated in this
program in Sonsonate and 4,000 in Ahuachapán.
PROFESSIONAL FORMATION CENTER (CFP)
This center contributes
to the professional formation of more than 1,500 men and women in
the following areas:
Plumbers, cameramen, carpenters, construction carpenters, cooks,
computer technicians, seamstresses, cosmetology specialists, electricians,
automechanics, art & crafts, mechanical welder, waiters, industrial
machine operators, bakers, radio and T.V. repair technicians, tailors,
salespeople, and technical salesmen.
Through CFP, Agape of El Salvador has provided educational opportunities
to various salvadoran provinces and towns: Nombre de Jesús, Chalatenango,
Sonsonate, Caluco, Zacatecoluca, Usulutan, San Pablo Tacachico,
Cabañas, Atiquizaya, Acajutla, San Juan Opico and San José
Villanueva. The courses are taught in 20 municipalities and 7
Contributing
to the formation of capable professionals for the Salvadoran society,
the Agape Association of El Salvador, through the Technological
Institutes of Sonsonate and Chalatenango, offers specialized teaching
for students who wish to become computer engineering technicians
and computer maintenance technicians.
On
Nov. 14, 2003, we had a ceremony to place the first stone of the
construction of the Technological Institute of Sonsonate (ITSO).
We plan to have two completely equipped computer centers, an electricity
workshop and an automatism workshop, a library, administrative offices,
recreational areas. The building will have capacity for 800 people.From
2000 to 2003, the Technological Institute of Sonsonate ITSO graduated
204 students (out of 1,681 in attendance) and the Technological
Institute of Chalatenango ITCHA graduated 105 students (out of 874
in attendance).
ENTRA 21
This
is a program financed by the International Youth Foundation, FOMIN,
USAID and AGAPE. It started in March 2003 to prepare 480 young people
in two areas of information technology: Computer Operator and Computer
Maintenance & Repair. The instruction period consists of two
phases that last 6 months each. This project is for students in
Sonsonate and La Union.
